Preparing Food – A practical life activity

Toddlers at the the age of observing everything that their parents are doing around the house. They love getting involved and trying these for themselves. Practical life activities refer to those day to day ‘chores’ such as folding clothes, washing dishes, and preparing food. Getting children involved in these activities is a great and fun way of encouraging independence, boosting self-esteem and developing motor skills.

Today the children did a food preparation activity, making use of food cutting shapes and melon. They had a great time with this activity and were very excited to eat the food that they had prepared themselves.
