Organizing a train game independently!
This weeks challah making turned out a bit disastrous, with the children adding far too much flour to the mix, they turned out hard as rocks 🙂 But, they enjoyed it! We love to get the children involved in the food preparations as much as possible, and the older they get, the more responsibilities they are able to take on.They enjoy preparation of salad, and the cutting of the fruits. They take great pride in their accomplishments and efforts in the kitchen.
Baking is always a favourite with the children. They are all eagerly engaged, and enjoy the tactile experience of playing with the dough, and taking turns in the preparation. Making the honey cake was a follow on from our learning about bees, and how the honey is used in the celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
This past week we have been learning about Bees and Honey. The children have shown great interest in this topic, and have enjoyed making their own bees, looking at pictures, and tasting the honey. An interesting fact for parents: a single bee makes 1/12 of a teaspoon on honey in its life, so enjoy every drop 🙂
