Learning new songs

The past week we have been learning two new songs. The first is just a silly rhyme which they all love, so here are the words, which you can practice with them:

If you should see an elephant upon a summers day,

What would you do? What would you say?

I would say good morning elephant,

And how do you do,

I am pleased to meet you elephant,

And may I dance with you,

Tra, la, la, la, la, la…..

The second song for the week carries on from our bird project, which reinforces the idea that many birds fly away to warmer climates in the winter:

Two little Dicky Birds sitting on a wall,

One named Polly, one named Paul,

Fly away Polly, fly away Paul,

Come back Polly, come back Paul

we do this song with little bird props, but you can just use two fingers and make each disappear and reappear.
